As he dances ... by PanHesekielShiroi As he dances ... by PanHesekielShiroi
Commissioned by the very kind :iconundonielle: Undonielle.
I kinda forgot to upload this one ...
She wanted me to do a fox line art similar to "His favorite dance" to give it as a present to one of her friends. I really enjoyed doing this picture since I could just draw whatever I wanted as long as it's a dancing fox similar to that other piece mentioned above. :)

You know, I think the coolest part of this drawing are his feet! The pose is beautiful and fluid as well. His right foot just looks perfect, though. Not sure WHY I cue in on that, but it's what draws my eye.

Thank you very much, but ... his feet? I have to admit that messed up a bit when I inked them. ^^;

Well, I think what draws my attention to his right paw is that he has TOES. Functional, useful toes. Any biped is going to need them, and you don't too often see anthromorphs drawn with them. His tail is also very nicely rendered, as is the whole drawing, but that just grabbed my attention. :)

I see, but I think most anthros I see around here have toes as well. .

But they're not distinct. For the most part they seem to be drawn as an almost rigid part of the foot, instead of flexing the way a biped's need to.

I love these kind of drawings and I must ask how one goes about doing the sort of broken contour, I have never had the opportunity to watch anyone draw them and they are in general just hard to find

Thank you very much! How to do that kind of style, hm ... I think everyone has his own technique for it. :)

Maybe practicing inking a simple line art with a bamboo brush (try to get a natural flow to your lines) and see where the lines are thinnest. Then try the same thing again and this time just leave some spaces at the places where the lines used to be thinnest.
Well ... I have to admit that I never tried doing it like that myself, but maybe it can help you?
